Witch Riot! The beginning of something special

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

Witch Riot! Logo. A witch on an old poster and in muted colors holding fire in one hand and a magic microphone in the other.

You can listen to the promo on Spotify at this link.

Hi, my Wiccurious and Witchynauts! Today I feel hopeful and excited, and I hope I'll get you feeling the same in a few minutes.

After a very long pondering of the idea, I decided to create my very first podcast in English. I always found the podcast format a very practical form of communication, not only for the listeners (since you're able to listen at any time and while doing many activities without having your visual attention consumed by the media, and even can be listened to with a locked cellphone), but also for the creator, since it requires less production than visual formats.

I wanted this podcast to be friendly to people with hearing impediments so I decided I'd publish the entire transcript of each episode as a post in my blog here, being this post the fist one.

Do you want to know what is the promo of the podcast about? This is the transcript of the trailer.

"If you’re comfortable with a system that expropriates your vital force, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you’re happy in a society that masks toxic positivity as enlightenment, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you think the best way to survive is to become indifferent and callous, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you think that there is not such a thing as a gender gap, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you don’t think that feminism should be intersectional, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you think this patriarchal normative society is the path to fairness, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you think of nature as an inferior force that must be dominated, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you believe that sceptical rationality is superior to magick, Witch Riot is not for you.

If you’re not a witch or you don’t like riots, then this podcast is not for you.

In a society that tells us we should be apologetic for our uncompromised convictions and calls us resentful when we get angry from the injustice they spread, there is a completely justified call to riot.

In a world where the wisdom of raw nature, spirits and magick is bastarded and relegated to childish fantasies, there is an utterly justified call to riot.

In a reality where sensitivity and female attributes are regarded as weaknesses, there is an entirely justified call to riot.

This podcast is a call to question and riot, to change reality and to dissipate the fog of oppression over our mind and our sight.

So witches, riot! And join this coven to become stronger together."
